Remote Learning
In the event of a full or partial school closure, or if a student is required to learn from home, Leigh Academy Mascalls will provide remote education to ensure that learning continues.
Expectations for behaviour online
- Students should behave online as they would in a school setting.
- Only school accounts should be used.
- Any safeguarding concerns should be reported immediately to the safeguarding team.
Where will you find the work?
- All work will be set on Google Classroom (via each subject’s class).
- Students should log in using their school Google account.
- Announcements, links to live lessons, and deadlines will all be posted there.
What Students are Expected to do?
- Students should follow their regular timetable wherever possible.
- For each lesson, a task, resources or assignment will be uploaded.
- Students are expected to complete and submit the work by the deadline set by the teacher.
Live/Online Lessons
- Where possible, teachers will deliver live or recorded input using Google Meet.
- Links to live lessons will be shared through Google Classroom.
- Students should join lessons on time, with cameras/mics used according to the teacher’s instructions.
If Students Cannot Access Online Learning
- If a student does not have their device or internet access, parents/carers should contact the student’s college so that we can discuss alternative arrangements.
- Paper packs or alternative formats may be provided where necessary.
