Uniform

Uniform is one of the outward signs by which the local community recognises and makes judgements about our students and it is important that our students present themselves in a positive, professional way that conveys a disciplined and well-ordered learning environment. Smart uniform ensures that all students are prepared for work both in school and beyond. Students arriving at school without the correct uniform will be sent to our Ready to Learn Gate and contact home with parents made.

We expect parents support the school to ensure the uniform code applies to every student in Years 7 to 11. All students are required to wear full school uniform whilst journeying to and from school, and whilst inside and outside the school buildings. The uniform should be neat and clean, communicating that our students take pride in belonging to Leigh Academy Mascalls.  

All uniform is to be worn at all times, however the academy will communicate with parents/carers in the summer modules should there be any seasonal changes.

Lost property

The loss of property and uniform is problematic for both parents and schools.  We would like to remind all parents that it is a requirement of Mascalls to have all uniform clearly labelled.

Lost property can be found at college offices or reception.

  • Leigh Academy Mascalls Blazer (Required)
  • Plain white collared shirt (Required)
  • Leigh Academy Mascalls Clip-on tie (Required)
  • Black school trousers (no dark/black canvas jeans) (Required)
  • V Neck Navy jumper (optional)
  • Warm waterproof outdoor coat or jacket (no hoodies, no suede, leather, denim or velvet coats, no coats with large logos)
  • Black leather shoes (no trainers, boots or canvas shoes)
    In the event of an injury, soft black shoes may be worn (letter from doctor/hospital required)
  • Plain black, white, grey or navy socks (ankle high or lower shin)
  • No sweatshirts or hooded sweatshirts may be worn

girls uniform

  • Blazer (Required)
  • Plain white open-neck blouse or white buttoned shirt and tie (Required)
  • Leigh Academy Mascalls skirt (Skirts must not be taken up from the length they are sold at) or black school trousers (no dark/black canvas jeans) (Required)
  • V Neck Navy jumper (optional)
  • Warm waterproof outdoor coat or jacket (no hoodies, no suede, leather, denim or velvet coats, no coats with large logos)

  • Plain (unbranded – no sports logos) Navy PE Shorts (Required)
  • Trainers – Plain White or Black (Required)
  • Football boots with plastic studs (Required)
  • Dance Footwear (due to the specialised flooring, trainers and shoes are not permitted. Jazz shoes, ballet shoes and gripper socks are permitted.)
  • Plain Navy Sports socks ( Required)
