NOTIFICATION OF SCHOOL VISIT
Title of Visit: Field trip to Reculver
Date of Visit: Tuesday 4th November 2025
Students Involved: Year 11 GCSE Geography students
Destination: Reculver, Kent
Travel Details: Please meet Ms. Ouegnimaoua and Mr. Reader at the Mascalls’ bus bay at 8:30 am. Travel will be by coach. Departure from Reculver is scheduled for 14:00, with an expected return to the Mascalls’ bus bay at 15:30.
Purpose of visit: To complete a coastal investigation, which is one of the two fieldwork components required for the Edexcel B GCSE Geography specification.
Nature of activities: Year 11 students will conduct a full day of data collection on Thursday 9th October within the local area at Reculver beach in Herne Bay. Students will be able to explore and study the physical processes operating at Reculver Beach, including longshore drift and deposition, and assess how effective the management is at protecting the coastline.
Cost and payment: The cost is £15 payable on Scopay by Friday 31st October 2025.

Required on the day: Students may wear their own suitable clothing on the day. It is recommended to bring a waterproof coat, a packed lunch (or money for a meal of their choice), water, and a pen and pencil. Wellingtons or old trainers will be useful if we are able to go to the water’s edge.
