Mascalls GCSE Results Day image

The staff at Mascalls Academy are delighted to announce another fantastic year of GCSE results for our students. These results are a testament to both the substantial efforts of the students and the great skill of their teachers, as well as the shared commitment throughout the GCSE journey. This Year 11 cohort has demonstrated a real sense of determination throughout the lead-up to their exams and the examination series itself.

60% of students achieved a grade 4 or higher in maths and 62% in English. Biology, chemistry, and physics also saw students achieve an average grade of 5, along with dance, music, art, and graphics. This year, it has been the creative subjects’ turn to shine, with art, graphics, catering, photography, music, dance, and drama all securing incredibly high outcomes. There were 469 grades achieved across the year group greater than a 5, with 14 of those grades at grade 9 and 45 at grade 8. In addition to these top GCSE grades, there were also 27 distinction* or distinction grades in vocational subjects.

A number of students have performed exceptionally well and contributed significantly to these outcomes::

  • Caitlin – grade 9 in English literature, grade 8 in English language, maths, biology, physics, geography, and history; grade 7 in chemistry; and grade 6 in Spanish.
  • Alex – grade 9 in maths; grade 8 in science, geography, and history; grade 7 in English language, English literature, and business.

With these incredible outcomes and many more, there was a celebratory atmosphere today with students, families, and teaching staff all celebrating alongside one another. The enrollment on to sixth form courses has taken place, and we are so pleased to have so many of our students continue their journey with us into the sixth form. We are also thrilled to have so many join us from other local schools, grammar schools, and academies.

Mrs. Jo Brooks, Principal of Mascalls Academy, has expressed her congratulations, stating:

We are thrilled for our Year 11 cohort, who worked with us so positively until the end of their exams. The culture they created in the lead-up to and during their exam period was something very special, and we are very proud of each and every one of them.”
