A huge congratulations to Leigh Academy Hugh Christie on becoming formally authorised to deliver the International Baccalaureate (IB) World School offering the Middle Years Programme (MYP)!

 

We are excited for them to join the family of IB World School academies within Leigh Academies Trust. Only a small number of state-funded, non selective academies – including Leigh Academy Mascalls- are authorised to offer the programme which is most commonly delivered in independent schools and grammar schools.

 

 

The MYP, which covers Key Stage 3 students, is so much more than a standard curriculum.  It is an internationally recognised framework with a strong focus on critical thinking, creativity, reflection that develops inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people.

 

This framework helps our students not just to learn facts, but to also create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect.
