Dear Parents and Carers,
The Venture Award
Thank you to everyone who attended our Parents’ Information Evening last night to learn more about the two Venture Awards taking place this year.
The Venture Award is a valuable outdoor development programme for our Year 7 and Year 8 students, supporting confidence, resilience, wellbeing and independence at a crucial stage of their secondary school journey. Level 1 introduces students to outdoor learning through guided activities that develop teamwork, communication and healthy habits, alongside a one-day campsite experience. Level 2 builds on this foundation by encouraging greater independence and environmental responsibility, combining in-school learning with a two-day, self-sufficient expedition that includes an overnight stay. Together, these awards help students develop essential life skills, strengthen their connections with peers and nature, and provide a strong pathway into future opportunities such as the Duke of Edinburgh Award.
All specific information from the evening will be shared with parents and students who have signed up. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. Scopay will be made available in the coming days to everyone who has registered via the Google Form.

At this stage, we ask for a £20 deposit to confirm your child’s place. We would appreciate this being paid before we return to school. If you experience any difficulties or if this simply isn’t possible, please do get in touch so we can support you.
