Walking Talking Mock Sessions

Dear Parents/Carers,

As we approach the final stage of the Year 11 Science curriculum, teaching will be finishing over the next weeks. To support pupils in their preparation for the upcoming exams, students will have the opportunity to take part in Walking Talking Mock sessions.

During these sessions, pupils will complete Paper 1 in class and Paper 2 in examination rooms. The purpose of these Walking Talking Mocks is to give students valuable experience of working in exam conditions while also receiving guidance on how to approach questions from predicted topics for their science examinations.

These sessions are designed to help pupils build confidence, develop exam technique, and understand how to structure their answers effectively.

The sessions will begin on 20th March, and a timetable will be published on Google Classroom so pupils know when their sessions will take place. Instructions regarding entering the examination room, expectations during the session, and procedures for leaving will be provided to pupils in advance. They will need to be equipped as they would do for an exam – black pens, pencils, ruler, rubber, sharpener, calculator plus a charged Chromebook.

In Module 4, an additional Period 6 sessions are available for Year 11 pupils every Thursday after school in G5. Pupils are encouraged to attend these sessions for further support and revision.

We expect all pupils to behave appropriately so that everyone can benefit from these important opportunities. Please speak with your child about the importance of taking these sessions seriously. Any behaviour that disrupts learning or prevents others from revising effectively will result in sanctions being issued.

Thank you for your continued support as we help prepare students for their final examinations.

Yours faithfully

R Collingwood
